This
course focuses on preparing carpet inspectors for certification,
it also serves as an introductory floor covering inspection
course explaining basic investigation procedures that apply
to all floor coverings.
This
course exceeds course requirements of an IICRC approved
carpet inspection course for those who wish to meet the
requirements of an IICRC certified Senior Inspector.
Some
basic knowledge of fibers, yarn construction, carpet construction
and installation is assumed and the emphasis is on field
testing, lab testing, inspection techniques, advanced construction,
installation and maintenance issues as well as report writing,
warranty interpretation, color issues, photography, sample
collection, practice and tours of related facilities.
Locating
this course in Dalton, GA. allows us to involve the most
highly respected industry professionals as guest speakers.
In
the last course, Bennie Woods from Advanced
Adhesive Technology, Randall Green from
Mohawk, Carroll Turner
overseer of CRI's vacuum testing and appearance retention
grading scales and Lee Phillips from Professional
Testing Labs all participated as guest instructors.

We tour tufting, weaving and yarn extrusion processes, research
test labs and other facilities.
Printed
material varies to remain current but in the last
class two large manuals, 1 textbook, a CD with
miscellaneous reference materials and hundreds of pages
of related industry literature were handed out, catalogued
and discussed.
